For EU, EEA and Swiss visitors, current GOV.UK guidance says visitors with a non-UK licence can drive in the UK without an IDP. Other licence holders should use the official non-GB licence checker.
An IDP does not replace your driving licence and does not itself provide insurance.
Check the official rule for the country that issued your licence rather than assuming an IDP is always required.
