Short answerPossibly. Some short-term policy wordings may provide cover outside the UK, including the minimum cover required by law in specified European countries. Other temporary policies may restrict driving more tightly. Check the policy offered to you before travelling.

What you need to know

Ramasis/Safely Insured offers several short-term products, and the territorial cover is not necessarily the same for all of them. The policy wording you receive may list European countries in which minimum compulsory motor insurance applies.

That does not necessarily mean you receive the same level of cover abroad as you have in the UK. Check the territorial section of the Insurance Product Information Document, policy wording, schedule and certificate before booking or starting an overseas journey.

Check both territory and level of cover

Confirm not only that the country is included, but also what level of insurance applies there. A policy may provide only the minimum cover required by local law while abroad.
